Information Technology (IT) is a vast field with the programming languages changing on a regular basis. The current syllabus for IT includes the practical components of the Java programming language and database programming using Structured Query Language (SQL). The theoretical components include current hardware, software, Internet or networking and communication technologies as well as the legal, ethical and social implications that exist in the larger field of Technology.
Information Technology (IT) is an elective IEB subject that can be taken for the National Senior Certificate (‘Matric’) at Dainfern College It is studied in Grades 10, 11 and 12 and comprises a practical and theory component.
