This fiercely contested and rapidly growing aquatics sport is only available in the High School.
In 2018 Water Polo at Dainfern College underwent a complete restructure. While this was happening, we withdrew from the Water Polo Schools’ League and concentrated on building and developing our players from scratch. This included pre-season Winter training, upskilling of coaching staff, friendly matches against some of the big name schools in the province and participation in some new tournaments we had not previously attended.
The success of this restructuring programme was immediately apparent and resulted in the selection for provincial sides of no fewer than ten of our players to take part in South African Schools Tournament in 2018. Like most sports extramurals, our progress was affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 but our boys and girls are back in the pool again and training hard.
