Dainfern College parents’ Association (PA) runs a wide variety of activities and initiatives which have the overall aim of:
- uniting the school, parents and students for the good of the college
- improving communication and the public image of the college
- raising funds for special capital projects which benefit the college and its students
- raising funds to help support the community outreach initiatives
All parents are encouraged to participate constructively in the life of Dainfern College and the PA is always looking for assistance in the many portfolios it is engaged in:
Portfolio leaders are expected to attend meetings twice a term with the college representatives while volunteer members support their portfolios according to the events which take place over the school year. We share our skills, knowledge and time in order to ensure that the practices of the PA and the needs of the school are linked for the benefit of all the college students.
Major fund raisers:
Swimathon, golf day, big walk
Additional fund raisers:
Christmas market, derby days, Makro card, my school card, newsletter classifieds,
Outreach feeding scheme, outreach library scheme
Communication and liaison portfolios:
New parents committee and recruitment, JP class moms representative, SP class moms representative, high school representatives, high school social events, parents social event, family fun day, goodwill, teachers day.
Portfolios to improve and maintain the school brand:
College shop and lost property, supporters gear, camps and tour bags, PA uniform.
PA management portfolios:
Chairman, deputy chair, finance, financial support, secretary.
