This year's Founders’ Day was held on Friday 16 September 2011 as Dainfern College celebrated its 15th birthday.

The Founders' Day service was moved back onto the main oval and the whole school was seated on the concrete stands. We celebrated our new Foundation, PA and Alumni Association. Four staff were awarded their ten-year anniversary awards – Charmaine Kitchen, Chris Steyn, Grace Manquindi and Cheryl Coetzee. James Forson, outgoing Chairman of the Dainfern College Board of Governors was the guest speaker this year and was awarded the Red Lion Award for his invaluable contribution to the school. The service ended off with a spectacular fly-by of two Yak52 aerobatic aircraft, lead by Mrs Annie Boon – a Dainfern College parent.

Our Grade 3 Market Day went off without a hitch. Parents and students alike workedhard to sell their goods, man their stands, get participants for their games and eat as much as they could! Everyone had a great time.

The Senior Prep sports games with students and their parents went off well too – parents looking a bit more exhausted than the students! We thank everyone for their participation and enthusiasm.

The High School InterHouse Athletics was well supported and the enthusiasm of the different Houses was very evident. Our Alumni race ended off this event.

The highlight of the afternoon was the annual Family Picnic from 16h00 where we relaxed on the lawns to the sounds of professional band Lemon & Limelight. The picnic baskets from the PA were well supported and certainly well stocked - thank you to the PA for this initiative. The Arts & Crafts, jumping castles and soccer entertained the children; and there was a wide variety of food on sale. The picnic once again turned out to be a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy being part of the Dainfern College family.
