On Thursday 12 April, during the holidays, a group of Grade 6 and 7 Outreach members went to hand out Easter eggs to the Reshomile students in Diepsloot.
We took the eggs to the staffroom. The Deputy Principal suggested that we should use class lists to divide the eggs between the classes. A number of Reshomile students helped us by taking the eggs to the classrooms. However, we were able to hand out to the Grade R class ourselves. Seeing the wide smiles on their faces will always remain in our memories forever. The school had to go home early because there was no water in the township at that time. We would have loved to go to the neighbouring schools to hand out more Easter eggs, but instead we gave more Easter eggs to the creches in the surrounding areas
We still had lots of Easter eggs left over so we gave to all the teachers as well.
Altogether we had a lot of fun, so thank you very much, Mama Mncube, for organising the outing.
