Grade 2 Easter Market Day PDF Print E-mail


Our Grade 2s spent several weeks discussing and working with money, making items to sell and planning the activities for their “Market Day”. After all this preparation there was great excitement as the children carefully laid out their tables in readiness for selling their wares on Friday 30 March. Prices were discussed and there was an eager chatter about “giving change” while they waited for their first customers to arrive. There were games to play, raffle tickets to sell and much discussion as to what could be found inside the “bunny bags”! What a wonderful buzz there was in the JP playground as all the Grade 1s, 2s and 3s came to shop and play games. Here are a few comments:

The Market Day was the best day ever! I bought a bunny bag and it was delicious! I also played lots of fun games. Juan Villacieros

The Market Day was fun and so exciting. We got to learn about the jobs that other people do. We also had lots of things to sell and games to play. Nicola and I enjoyed selling the tickets for our class raffle. Calila Bergman-Ally

I played fun games and won a lot of prizes. It was fun selling the Bunny Bags and I had a great time. William Connellan

I liked it when I sold chips for R3 and juice for R3 too! I bought a Bunny Bag for R5 and that was very yummy! Léla Swart

On Friday it was Market Day and it was fun selling things and playing games. My favourite game was the “Squiggy” game! Kerryn Leonard

At the Market Day I had to put my hand in the goo and I pulled out a windmill and a bracelet made out of sweets! Kelsey Venter
