Our Grade 2 dinner was a Grand occasion!

Dainfern College Junior Preparatory's annual “Dinner for Two” was celebrated on Thursday 1 June 2017and our theme was “The Grand White Dinner”. The very talented class moms transformed the Multipurpose Hall into a beautiful white winter wonderland; parents and children dressed in white, to match the theme.

This wonderful event is intended to devote time to valuing and honouring the relationship between our children and their parents or step-parents. Through events like Dinner for Two, we continue to develop and entrench the bonds between the significant people in our children’s lives, as well as the relationships within the Grade 2 family group.

The Grade 2 children put on a stunning show and dance to welcome their parents and then put their service skills to the test, acting as waiters and waitresses for the evening.

The Dinner for Two is a highlight in the Junior Preparatory! Here's what the Grade 2B pupils enjoyed most about this wonderful event:

“The most exciting part was spending time with my parents.” Lerato Hlapi

“I loved serving the food to my mom and dad, I asked them what they would like to eat and they both wanted beef. I served it and it was nice for them and there were flowers that we made on the table.” Blainson Blaauw-Robinson

“My Mom gave me a bite of her beef shawarma and then we sang and served them.” Nonelela Mayekiso

“I got to serve my mom a beef shawarma and me and Madison danced to songs and played in the smoke machine. We got cupcakes after the dinner.” Modjadji Maponya

“Dinner for two was amazing and what I enjoyed the most was serving the parents, because we acted like real waiters.” Judd Bertholdt

“I enjoyed the Dinner for Two, but they called it The Grand White Dinner because everyone was wearing white. I enjoyed dancing with my friends and family.” Chiara dalla Torre

“When we were done serving our parents there was a smoke machine and we danced in a conga line dance. we had fun.” Tayla Maree
