Learning in groups is fun

This year, Literacy and Mathematics rotations were introduced into the Grade 2 curriculum. These rotations incorporate a variety of activities that enrich the concepts that are currently being taught. The intention is to consolidate and further explore themes through a variety of different media. The children have learnt through iPads, computers, painting, games, word challenges, thinking skills, problem solving and research.

When asked why they enjoyed the rotatoions, this is what some of the Grade 2N pupils had to say:

Each day we swap activities. Our favourite was the iPad. Sikelela Godlwana

The 'Mouse maze' app was awesome! Luke Hugo

I learn things and Mrs Norton gives us information about pets and I love pets. Ayva Pillay

You get to play Bingo and play 'Mouse maze'. Max Turner-Wach

My favourite is word search on the iPad. Jessica Frame

I liked “Guess the Pet” and for maths we played Odd Todd and Even Stephen. Kgolagano Zebediela

We do things like painting, maths iPad activities and writing. Rebecca Goosen

I love to learn new things and I love the rotations we do! Relebogile Ngwepe

We get to do different things. We do games and words and my favourite thing is pets. Alexis Petzer
