“What can I do to help my child improve his or her performance in English / Afrikaans / Maths etc?” This is a question frequently asked by concerned parents. Most importantly, parents need to try to stimulate in their children an interest in the subject and help them to gain confidence in their ability.
Confidence will come from positive reinforcement and from achievement which, for most of us, is dependent on hard work. There are no short cuts, but sensible parental interest - as opposed to overly anxious “nagging”, unrealistic expectations or a complete lack of concern - will help your child to adopt a responsible attitude to work.
We have compiled a booklet in an attempt to provide some answers and that hope this booklet will be of some use. Click here to download it.
