Geography is a dynamic subject which studies humans and our physical and social environment.

In the Geography department we too strive to be dynamic and keep up with all the current issues facing humans and the environment in which we live.

The Geography department does follow the National Core Curriculum, but we use current situations as examples, as well as a variety of teaching aids.

Due to the broad nature of the subject, a wide range of skills are taught in Geography, skills which we believe will continue to serve the learners in later life - e.g. map skills, graphicacy, numeracy, interpretation of photos, application and empathy.

An essential component of Geography is fieldwork, where we take what has been studied in theory and examine it in a more practical and real-life situation.
