Learners enjoyed a Discover Scuba course as part of the Junior Round Square conference. Fun was had by all as they entered the underwater world of scuba for the first time.
Dainfern College offers learners the opportunity to scuba dive throughout the year. We run PADI courses at school after extramurals and host pool training and open water dives at the local quarries - Miracle Waters and Bass Lake- on weekends. In addition learners are encouraged to dive the South African and African coastline with their families and friends.
As part of Round Square, we wanted to share this awesome experience with learners from all over Africa. We conducted a talk on Diving for Debris, and the positive impact divers can have on the environment. We conducted 110 Discover Scuba Diving courses for both learners and teachers, and provided logbooks and badges for all participants.
