Russell Tucker, who matriculated from Dainfern College in 2008, was selected to represent South Africa at the All-Africa Games, held in Maputo from 3 to 18 September this year, after qualifying at a Germiston athletics meet earlier this year (see picture below).
Russell participated in the Men's Discus event, and came third to clinch the bronze medal. Fellow teammate Victor Hogan won the silver medal. Their efforts contributed to South Africa's haul of 157 medals, which put us on top. This is the first time South Africa has won the Games since hosting it in 1999.
