Dainfern College

Ruwaldt Viljoen (Class of 2005) is currently studying at the University of Montevallo in Augusta, Georgia. The University of Montevallo men’s golf team was recently awarded three spots on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team and Ruwaldt was one of those selected.

Ruwaldt holds a 3.66 GPA in management and this is his first PBC All-Academic selection. The team is part of a season-long programme recognising the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must:

1. Participate in at least half of his team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor;
2. Have achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and
3. Completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.

During the 2009/2010 season Ruwaldt tied for 15th at the UWG Invitational, tied for 16th at the Wynlakes Wynters Nationals, finished 70th at the Samford Intercollegiate and was named a Gold Scholar on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll.
